I’ve been overweight my entire life and have known it. Growing up I was always bigger than my friends. I was involved in sports as a kid but never really worked hard at them. I mostly enjoyed sports because I was able to hang out with my friends. As a kid, my diet mostly consisted of pizza, spaghetti, hotdogs and mashed potatoes. I HATED vegetables and tolerated fruits. The only veggies I would eat were corn or peas and carrots drowned in ranch dressing. All of these bad habits resulted in me being obese. Eventually, I was tired of being the “fat” one and being insecure about my weight.
Vanessa literally changed my life. Working out with her has not only helped me lose weight but it has also given me a new level of confidence and a new appreciation for my body and what it is capable of doing. She has added years to my life and given me a new energy. She is one of the nicest people I know and truly cares about helping me achieve my goals. When I mess up, she doesn't give me a hard time or scold me. Alternatively, she encourages me to get back on the horse and pushes me to be my best.
The secret to losing weight is to be consistent and Vanessa keeps me reliable and on track so that I stay consistent. I'm so thankful for Vanessa and all that she has helped me achieve in the past 2 years!
I've been working with Vanessa for more than 6 years now. I love that she is always encouraging and challenging me with my fitness and nutrition. She never gives up on you even if when you feel like giving up. Her 6 week challenges are a great way to get motivated again and have always made me push myself to succeed. I did her last photo shoot challenge and had great results which I wouldn't have achieved without her guidance and support. I love attending her group classes and the one on one I get with Vanessa when I personal train with her as well. She is accomodating when something comes up and it may need to change. I'm very thankful for Vanessa.
We all live busy lives, and all want to make time for the gym. But the reality is, we also live in a rural area which makes finding the time to hit the gym even harder when you have to factor in travelling to town. Studio 87 is local to me, offers great classes and has extremely reasonable personal training rates. I myself am unable to make it to her classes at this season in life, but used to go to them regularly and will attend when my children are older. I do however make the time for personal training once a week. I like my workouts there, if I want to change or tweak something she will. She makes me home programs to do and encourages and motivates to keep going and get them done. She is friendly and positive and it is a great environment to work out in. I have always been a person who loves to be physically active. I jogged my way through my 20's, 30's, and 40's. I love cardio! Then, in the summer of 2014, I injured my hamstring to the point that I could barely walk. I decided it was time to call Vanessa.
I went to Vanessa for personal training twice a week and did home programs prescribed by Vanessa. My leg got stronger. Vanessa suggested that I join her fitness classes. I was reluctant to give up any running time, but decided to give it a try. I loved it! I discovered that I liked some variety in my work out routine. Also, I discovered that the more my entire body was in shape, the better running I could do.
I love Vanessa’s classes because they are always challenging and you leave feeling like you worked to the best of your ability. Vanessa always gives you three levels of options for each exercise, so you can work at whatever level you are capable of. She is careful to watch your form and make sure that you are not doing anything that will be harmful. She suggests alternate exercises for people who have injuries to consider. Vanessa frequently changes her classes and keeps up with the newest trends, so you never get bored!
I also love personal training with Vanessa. She always pushes me to my limit without pushing too hard. She is friendly and chats away with me while I’m working. Before I know it, the time is up and the work out is done!
With the combination of running, personal training, and fitness classes, I was in good physical condition. However, I didn’t look like it. In the spring of 2017 Vanessa and some of her clients did a photo shoot challenge. I couldn’t believe my eyes! The transformation in the girls was truly impressive! I told Vanessa that whatever they were doing, I wanted to do that too. Vanessa hooked me up with a nutrition counsellor. Vanessa started giving me work outs with heavier weights. Within just one month, you could see a remarkable loss of fat. It was very encouraging. I kept following the food plans and working with Vanessa. By the time of the photo shoot, I had lost 30 pounds! I have reached a body weight and physique that I am proud of. I feel lean and fit! I hope to maintain or improve upon what I have accomplished going forward.
I am very thankful that I have been able to work with Vanessa over the last 4 years. She is a great support and makes working out fun. Her rates are VERY reasonable. You definitely get your money’s - worth and more when you work with Vanessa!
